Work for the week of June 4th

I've been away from it too long. I had to call and ask why fog sealing was being done BEFORE chip-sealing. I was "gently" reminded that the dig-outs needed to be sealed so that the oil from the chip-seal would stick and not just soak all the way through and not allow the chip-seal to "work".  Oh.. DUH!

So....   Scott Lake residents will be seeing the fog-seal crew working on the patched spots from last week. This should not cause too much of an imposition. The oil cures quickly.

There will also be crack sealing being applied to the list of chip-seal roads where needed. This is where an asphalt material is melted and then squirted and squeegee'd into cracks in the pavement that are too small for major repair but to big to just chip-seal over.

Traffic control will be on the scene to help you through these areas.

We've started beltloading again.  I described that process in an earlier post, so you can check the archive if you are interested.  The beltloading crew will be working the East Olympia roads so use caution when traveling that area. The roads can be a little dusty and visibility around the crew can be diminished.

The slope and shoulder mowers are attacking the sides of the roads in the Cooper Point and Delphi Rd area. Watch for the orange signs that warn of their work zones.

And finally, remember those NPDES areas? We will have crews cleaning catch-basins and culverts around those locations. Click the lick to visit the map.

And the rest of the crew will be grinding up accumulated storm debris at our Tilley Road site.
